We held our first STEM Electrathon Event of 2024 (our 5th for the 2023-2024 season) at Middleton High School on Saturday, January 20th. We thank Sponsor William Knight his team and Middleton HS Administration for their support of our organization.
Thank you, Ken Fiallos (founder), for brining coffee and donuts.
Teams arrived and got signed in and their cars inspected. The pits were busy with teams making last minute adjustments. Plant City car 83 had controller issues. The team worked hard to figure it out but had no luck in getting it on the track.
We welcome back the Palm Bay Magnet Team and hope to see them at more races.
We had a surprise visit from Vic Nieves, one of our founders and longtime supporter.
We thank the parents, family and friends that came out to support the students and teams.
Our Race Steward Ryan and Charlie met with everyone for the drivers/teams meeting.
We had nine cars line up for the first, one hour competition.
During the race, Middleton car 133 and Florida State College at Jacksonville car 904 met each other in one of the turns. Both drivers did well and there were no injuries.
We had a few tires pop on the rough course and there was only one chain issue (and it wasn’t Mulberry).
