We held our STEM Electrathon Event at Kirkland Ranch Academy of Innovation on December 14, 2024.
It started out as a cool morning then the winds arrived and created a challenge for teams and canopies. The sun was hot and felt good for a little while then it was too much. Towards the end of the day we were hoping that the rain clouds didn’t open up before we were done.
We thank Kirkland Ranch Sponsor David Kocher and his Administration for hosting our event.
We thank everyone that arrived early to help with set up.
The teams arrived and got their cars inspected.
We missed our Florida State College/Jacksonville, Middleton HS, Shark Family and Silver Bullet Teams. Hope to see them at our next race.
We welcome Navarre Shock and Awe Electrathon Team (3 cars) to our Electrathon Family and hope they continue to join us at our STEM Electrathon Events. The team has an awesome trailer with roof top viewing, great students and devoted Team Sponsors.
Teams met with race officials for the drivers meeting. We had twelve cars line up for our first race of the day. The green flag dropped, and teams found their path on the course. A few teams had issues with their cars but overall, the race went well.
