USF Engineering Expo April 11, 2026

We held our STEM Electrathon Event at University of South Florida (USF) in conjunction with their Annual Engineering Expo on Saturday, April 11th.

We thank everyone for their help getting set up before the race and cleaned up after the race.

We thank Dawn for the donuts and Trish for the homemade cookies.Once again, Trish and Mike did a great job making our trophies.The teams arrived, got their pit areas set up so Mike Ralph could inspect their car(s).Teams met with Race Officials for the drivers meeting.Our first race of the day had 8 cars lineup.The green flag dropped and teams found their path on the course.

The first race went really well; a few tire issues and USF had the front wheel welds show stress cracks.

When the checkered flag dropped it was:

1st Place Kirkland Ranch Academy of Innovation (KRAI) Power car 555 with 68 laps
2nd Place Lyman car 12 with 59 laps
3rd Place KRAI Power car 210 with 53 laps
4th Place Mulberry car 38 with 34 laps

1st Place Tiger Racing car 4 with 69 laps
2nd Place Mulberry car 100 (driver Todd Thuma) with 34 laps

Advanced
1st Place USF car 132 with 74 laps
2nd Place Pro EV car 39 with 73 laps

In between races teams worked on their cars and had lunch. USF worked on their front wheels; they got them aligned and welded so they could get back for the second race.

Our second race had 7 cars line up; USF joined the race after it started as repairs took longer than expected. When the checkered flag dropped it was:
