We held our STEM Electrathon Event at Kirkland Ranch Academy of Innovation on Saturday, March 7th.
We thank everyone for their help getting set up before the race and cleaned up after the race.
We thank David Kocher and KRAI Administration for hosting the event.
We thank Erinn Glavich for her support of all the teams, the students and assisting the organization anywhere she is needed.
We thank John, Dawn and Charlie for the donuts and Trish for the homemade cookies.
We thank Mike and Trish for making sure the trophies are made and ready for our races.
The teams arrived, got their pit areas set up so Mike Ralph could inspect their car(s).
Teams met with Race Officials for the drivers meeting.
Our first race of the day had 13 cars lineup.
The green flag dropped and teams found their path on the course.
The first race brought challenges to a number of teams (cars 904 & 100) really liked hitting the cones.
Silver Bullet 94 takes the award for most cones hit in any race day. Jerry was just having fun.
Ramtech had issues with their front tire rim, Florida State College Jacksonville (FSCJ) car 32 kept coming up on two wheels, and Lyman blew a tire.
Thank you Pro EV, Cliff for the videos. When the checkered flag dropped it was:

In between races teams worked on their cars and had lunch.
Once again Sponsor David Kocher and his team showed what true sportsmanship and mentoring is all about. He and his team helped the Ramtech team from Miami repair/true up their front rim(s), so they were able to be in the second race.
Our second race had 12 cars line up, Mulberry HS decided to strip the wheel from their car 100, they installed it on their car 38 to perform better, and it worked, good decision.
The teams made sure to challenge each other to see who could handle the heat. Pro EV and FSCJ 32 did well against one another until Pro EV and Kirkland 555 hit each other damaging Pro EV front wheel assembly. Once again cones were a magnet for some drivers (we won’t mention Jerry’s name). Cars 38, 210, 555 all had tire issues, and yes, as stated before, KRAI 555 and Pro EV exchanged some car contact, both drivers did well and no one was hurt.
